AMANDA + RANJAN (NYC NJ Wedding Photography) – New York New Jersey

Everyone all right after Snowmageddon ’16?  In lieu of this freezing weather and precipitation, I’d like to present to you some images from Amanda and Ranjan’s fun-filled, warmer weather’d celebration of two wonderful people and two beautiful cultures coming together on a glorious day in the Garden State.

You’ve seen Amanda and Ranjan before on this blog, when we did their Beloved engagement session in Madison Square Park.  Over the course of the year, we got to know each other pretty well and I have to say… I am so fortunate, in this line of work, to be able to work with and get to know some amazing people, like these two lovebirds.

From the moment we met to this very day, Amanda and Ranjan exhibit pure class and generosity, while also being extremely down to earth and an absolute joy to work with.

Ranjan himself is an avid photographer so the pressure is always a little bit more intense in those circumstances, but at the same time, we all know the best work comes from just letting the artist do his or her thing.  (As long as you know what you’re expecting, of course).  And that, I remember, was exactly what Amanda and Ranjan said to me on our initial meeting.

Fast forward to the big day.  It was a gorgeous and warm afternoon.  I walked into the hotel and the area where I thought the bride and groom were getting ready, but all I saw were half naked humongous dudes walking around, stretching and getting massages.

Um… I think I’m in the wrong place.

So it turns out, the San Francisco 49ers were staying at that hotel since they were playing the Giants that weekend.  They were kind of a surly bunch, but I understand, I’d be that way too if I was having the season they were having. Zing!

Anyways, I eventually got to the right spot (one floor down) and our day officially began.  Below are a few images from that wonderful day.  Take a break from shoveling your car out of the snow (I mean come on, it’s gonna take a couple more hours anyways) or take a break from work (you’re probably checking Facebook anyway) and enjoy the show!

Amanda and Ranjan, it was truly a pleasure and an honor to document your big day.  Can’t wait to get together for dinner and drinks later this week and catch up.  We’ll drink to the Mets signing Yoenis. 🙂

Have a wonderful day everyone!

JACKIE + JONATHAN (Brooklyn Coney Island Engagement Session – NYC Beloved)

I first met Jackie and Jonathan last winter when they were in search of their wedding photographer.  We got to know each other over a bottle of wine and instantly hit it off.  I immediately knew I wanted to work with them, and I think the feeling was mutual.

The word that kept popping up in my head to describe Jackie and Jonathan was “FUN!”  I could tell these two were crazy in love and just lived to have fun with each other.  Their big bright smiles and the way they interact with each other reflect the chemistry they have and it was super important for me to try to capture that in their photos.

While getting to know them, Jonathan suggested maybe doing the shoot at Coney Island, since they love carnivals and amusement parks.  It would suit them perfectly, I knew.

Speaking of perfect, we couldn’t have picked a better day to have this shoot.  Not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was spot on for a hot dog, a beer and an engagement shoot.  Not necessarily in that order.

So without further ado, I present to you Jackie and Jonathan.  Two people insanely in love with each other, more than ready for that next step in their lives.  Congrats and see you soon on your big day!

Carolyn + Flavio (Brooklyn Bridge DUMBO Engagement Session)

I first met Carolyn a few years ago when I was one of the photographers for her sister, Marie’s, wedding.  Many years have passed but I still remember Marie’s wedding like it was yesterday.  I mean, they had belly dancers.  And I loved working with both families, leaving a lasting impression of what a great union Marie and Amro made.  And did I mention belly dancers?

So when I got an email one day from Carolyn telling me about her own recent engagement, I was so excited to work with her and her family once again, and I looked forward to getting to know her fiance, Flavio as well.  After our initial consult, it was clear we would work well together and we pretty much booked everything right on the spot.

We decided to do our engagement shoot near the Brooklyn Bridge, which is something that I haven’t actually done in a little bit, so I was excited get back down there and have a real good shoot.

It was awesome to spend some time catching up with Carolyn and getting to know Flavio. From the very little I’ve seen, they both seem like they’re wildly in love with each other and they treat each other in such a sweet, kindhearted way.  I hope these images from the engagement session were able to capture the heartfelt emotions these two have for each other.

Congratulations Carolyn and Flavio.  I look forward to photographing even more joyous moments on your big day!
